Linux for You
In 1991 , an undergraduate student at a University in Finland , who was named “Linus” – in full name Linux Torvalds acquired what was then a brand new IBM 386 PC.
Not satisfied with the operating system ( Windows 3.1 or DOS 5)Â Linus wanted to run the UNIX
Operating System (O.S) .
UNIX itself was too expensive for the budget and academic budget of this undergraduate student or the department of the Helenski University.
Linus Torvalds started his efforts and created a core operating system or kernel named “Linux”. The task of developing the Linux kernel came to fruition with a team of computer programmers which was assembled along the task of compiling the Lunux kernel.
