HeidiSQL added to osalt.com
HeidiSQL is a brilliant, small and simple open source SQL tool for MySQL databases. It does exactly what you expect it to – and a few extra things. Downloading, installing and configuring is very simple and HeidiSQL is quickly running on your machine. Through the hierarchy on the left hand side – you can easily navigate the different database obejcts of your MySQL databases.
The main window allows you to manipulate the select objects – mainly tables – added or removing fields etc. All of the data in each table can be explored by clicking the “Data” tab. This presents a grid view of the entire table data, however BLOB fields are displayed in the bottom of the screen in the dedicated BLOB viewer and editor.
HeidiSQL’s query editor features field suggestion and completion – making work with any database a trivial task and limits the number of errors related to typing errors. Additional features of HeidiSQL includes import and export of databases, user management and more.

Xming added to osalt.com
Xming is a small and fast X-Windows Server for Microsoft Windows. But even though it is small – it is still simple to use and has the full set of features your would see in commercial products. Used together with PuTTY Xming can be used one remote hosts only accessible through SSH (using X11 forwarding). When it comes to OpenGL support Xming ships in two versions – one with OpenGL support and another based on MESA (a software OpenGL implementation).
Xming can run in full-screen mode or multiple windows mode (most common) – but also in a single window with or without title bar. All in all Xming is a great open source alternative to the commercial and often expensive X-Windows servers on the market.

Liferay Portal added to osalt.com
Liferay Portal is enterprise quality portal software. A major focus is usability – allowing users to get started right away without spending too much time buried in thick manuals. However, being an enterprise class product installation and setup require some knowledge of application servers and databases.
As soon as Liferay is running it is ready for use. And with the included portlets (JSR 168) integration with other sub-systems can quickly be achieved. Liferay also includes it’s own CMS (content management system) called Journal. Journal provides excellent separation of content and layout – making it simple to have anyone write and contribute new content.
On top of all this Liferay’s features include support for LDAP (Active Directory) user management, workflow, single-sign on and finally a little AJAX.
