Some Have Called it a Bold Move
Some have called it a bold move which secures the future of the operating system; others have called it an act of deperation. Still other computer enthusiasts or “geeks” an understandable reaction to the success of various Linux based operating systems.
Over 30 years ago , the computer scientists of Bell Labs began the haphazard endeavor to create a brand new operating system. Through their efforts , Unix – an operating system of unusual power , simplicity and elegance – and a computer revolution was born. Since then computer prices have plummeted , while the same time computer power has soared. Microsoft has now taken over the computer world leaving Unix languishing and tarnished in the “back room”.
